Grinspoon - Better Off Alone : Throwback Thursday

Forming in Lismore, NSW in 1995, Grinspoon gained attention through Triple J's Unearthed competition. The breakout album 'Guide to Better Living' became a must have Aussie item of summer 1997'/98'. Their beginnings as a punk/grunge/alternative band, quickly matured in both sound and songwriting to become part of Australia's staple diet of touring rock acts. Last year the band released their 7th studio album 'Black Rabbits' which debuted as No. 8 on the ARIA charts.

I chose 'Better of Alone' from their 2004 release 'Thrills, Kills and Sunday Pills' for today, a more sombre style of Grinspoon sound than what drew me to them, but a song that still holds place in my MP3 playlist today.

Grinspoon recently wrapped up their 'Black Rabbits' Tour, but you can check out the Grinspoon website for more gig info - HERE

You can also catch frontman Phil Jamieson's solo show which is happening as I write, check out the dates on Phil's Facebook
